Contents Technician (Supporting Role)
The Contents Technician assists with pack-outs, pack-backs, and supports the contents team in coordinating the restoration, cleaning, and management of personal property (contents) damaged by disasters such as fire, water, or mold. This position requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication to support efficient, high-quality restoration work. The Contents Technician follows safety protocols and company policies while contributing to overall team success.
Key Responsibilities
Team Support
- Support team leads and technicians during contents restoration projects, including fire and water events.
- Assist with task execution and day-to-day project needs as directed by team leadership.
- Provide guidance and support to newer technicians when appropriate.
Contents Handling and Restoration
- Assist with packing, inventorying, and safe transportation of clients’ belongings.
- Help assess damage to personal property and carry out appropriate restoration methods under direction.
- Utilize specialized equipment and techniques to clean, deodorize, and restore items.
- Support proper handling and storage of contents in warehouse facilities.
Customer Interaction
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner during the restoration process.
- Help communicate restoration processes and timelines, and escalate concerns to leadership when needed.
Documentation and Reporting
- Assist in creating detailed inventories of contents removed from job sites.
- Document condition of items before and after restoration, including photos and notes.
- Update project information in company systems as directed.
Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to industry standards and company policies related to restoration and hazardous materials.
Equipment and Supplies
- Assist with maintaining and cleaning restoration equipment.
- Report equipment issues and supply needs to leadership in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience: 1–3 years in contents restoration or related field preferred.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with restoration equipment and techniques (ozone chambers, hydroxyl chambers, ultrasonic cleaning, dehumidification) preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills with a customer-focused mindset.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy items (50+ lbs), work in confined spaces, and tolerate exposure to smoke, mold, and other environmental conditions.

Certifications: IICRC certifications are a plus.

Technology: Familiarity with restoration software and digital inventory systems (Encircle experience a plus).
Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
